Mastery For Strings presents a unique, efficient methodology for developing high levels of proficiency in string players in both classroom and private studio settings.
While method books concentrate on what the student is expected to know, they often do not offer the teacher and student sufficient information on how to accomplish these tasks. By constructing a step-by-step pedagogical program for violin, viola, cello, and string bass, Mastery for Strings provides the perfect complement. This is a valuable resource for heterogeneous string classes, private studios, & in college teacher preparation courses.
In 1994 the American String Teachers Association named William Dick its national Music Educator of the Year (the Elizabeth Green Award). That same year he also was honored by the Texas Orchestra Directors Association as Director of the Year.
